ClaimID featured on Solution Watch
February 27th, 2006 - Fred StutzmanWe were very excited this morning to see that Brian Benzinger of Solution Watch was kind enough to profile ClaimID. Wow!
Brian hits a lot of the great points about claimID, especially how easy it is to use the service. I think that’s key: Digital Identity is such a complicated thing. At ClaimID we’re starting with the simplest and most fundamental elements of our digital identity: the links that are about us online, and building from there.
ClaimID will evolve, features will be added, but we’ll always keep the service easy to use, and we’ll always take a standards-based approach. We want to make claimID a hub for your online identity. For example, our data feeds are CC-licensed, and we include a hCard (a standards-based way for sharing your identity information) with each profile. We’re just getting started, but we think we’re headed in the right direction.

You are so right. I believe that you are pioneering this idea perfectly. It is one of the few unexplored frontiers of the internet. It will probably start gaining great popularity because of our increasingly digital lifestyles. Almost all of our devices are online keeping us all constantly connected. As we begin to completely move our lives into this digital world and communicate with others through conversation, websites, ideas, and visuals, we will need a way of claiming what is ours, what is about us, and what we have been involved in.
It will also help us prove what is NOT valid. If people use claimID to verify if something is valid (say somone poses as me and posts on a message board, or makes a slanderous website, or hell, even has the same name and gets mistaken as me), then claimID can actually become a valuable tool to help PROTECT my identity. If it is not on my claimID, consider it fake/false/not me.
claimID lets me lay claim to my digital life. It is my digital portfolio. It is my digital resume.
Frankly…. it is just awesome.

claimID is very easy to use, very intuitive, plain and simple piece of service that would make its user happy. let me call claimID my “footprints in the digital world”.
